We also see a modest side of Phil Spencer.

Xbox Boss Spencer has once again take to Twitter to talk on all things related to Xbox One. The Xbox One user interface is no doubt clunky and slow and the team is still working on it. Spencer assured that it’s on their list of things to do. “Speeding up the UI is high on our list of improvements we want to make,” he said on Twitter. He also revealed that DirectX 12 could actually help speeding up the user interface and he would like to see it rendered in 4K resolution.

He also stated that they would require more time before they talk about the Phantom Dust Reboot. The studio change has apparently hit the game’s development. “Studio change for PD slowed us down. Want to make sure we do it right, will take more time sorry to say,” he clarified.

Spencer also stated that he expects smaller studios to make games for Xbox One using DX12. “Bringing DX12 and XBL to both Win10 and Xbox One helps studios who want to develop for Xbox and PC so yes,” he answered a fan’s question. And what about a achievement sorting feature for the Xbox One? Spencer believes that it’s a good suggestion and asked the user to post it on xbox.uservoice.com.

He also commented on getting more games to support cross platform play on Xbox One. “Cross-play is turning out to be a feature a lot of studios want to implement, especially for co-op.”

And finally players who think Spencer is the reason why the Xbox One is awesome, Phil’s reply is rather humble. “I didn’t do anything. Creators make great games, gamers play games, give us feedback, team continues to improve the platform.”

Probably the most level headed game console head.

Who lies and contradicts himself. Phil Spencer is a marketting business man. You’re kissing his @ss because you’re an Xbox fan boy.

  • NecroXM

Phil is probably the best thing to ever happen to Xbox… He should have been head of Xbox from the start. Also, can’t wait for the benefits of DX12.

    • I’m Flat Out Right

Phil Spencer is the cause of many problems Xbox has.

So to paraphrase your comment, “Wahhhhhhh!!!”

    • Matthew Bryant

No, J Allard is by far the best thing to ever happen to Xbox. Phil Spencer isn’t terrible, but everyone seems to forget his pro-DRM stance when the Xbox One was announced. I remember all the “He looks like a weasel” comments from E3 2013, but now he’s suddenly a hero. Strange how quickly people change their mind about people. He wasn’t a terrible person then, and he’s a decent head of the division now.

That being said, I doubt Don Mattrick was the reason for most of the original Xbox One policies. Microsoft as a company probably had a much larger role in that with their desire to “take control of the living room” than anything else. Don gets the blame, though, and Phil Spencer gets all the praise. The standard bait and switch while using Don as a scapegoat. It’s kind of sad how much everyone loves to hate Don Mattrick now too. He’s been in the industry longer than most and helped develop some great classics like Test Drive. C’est la vie.

Since the Marth update I find the ui more stable

  • Fay_Z

they could just throw in the xbox 360 UI into xbone.. BOOM. problem solved.

  • Truthhurts24

Glad to here the Dx12 taking full advantage of the UI. The speed should be as fast as the 360. Now all they have to do is make the install speed faster for download management and they will be complete.

      You sound like a fanboy.

    • Truthhurts24

I dont have time for trolls

    • Jen Jackson

      Really dude?

      Yeah…they get annoying.

    • Jonathan Rogers

Am I the only person who uses adblock plus anymore?

    • Hopefully. If you want the content creators you’ve been enjoying for the past x-many years to continue making said content, you should “pay” them what they “deserve.”

    • Jonathan Rogers

      Wikipedia doesn’t have a single ad. 😉

    • someguy-_-

      One of two now.

  • Slapshotsaint

This far in with XBOX ONE all they are doing is talking about rubbish. At least they acknowledge they have a performance issues. But its already over for them with this XBOX and MICROSOFT knows it.

    • Dirkster_Dude

Yea, they will never make any more money on the XBOX ONE so they should stop trying and never do anything as stupid as making a game console again or even try to improve what is already available. Yes, this is sarcasm.

    • I’m Flat Out Right

They should stop lying about their platform and stop focusing on DX and other monopolistic and anti consumer features and focus more on games. That is the “correct” course of action they should take.

If Microsoft went 3rd party, it would benefit the industry. Microsoft is the most monopolistic and greedy of any platform provider in gaming.

    • Dirkster_Dude

You sound like someone who smokes crack cocaine to me. Totally off the wall

All companies strive to achieve the largest share of any market they compete in. No company has ever said, “Well since there are 10 of us in this space, I’ll quit at 10% share so you guys can have an even cut.”

  • Starman

First of all “Fanboy editor” Phil never called the UI “CLUNKY” you’ll are such fanboys at GB …..

  • I’m Flat Out Right

Phil Spencer is feeding more lies. The reason why Direct X exists is to lock developers in to the Windows OS. Developers could make games for Xbox and PC just easily with Vulcan. Vulcan should be enabled on Windows 7 so that nobody is forced to upgrade to Windows 10.

I love how the same people always upvote all your comments…should probably switch up that bot name generator.
