SSD upgrade can boost PS3 performance

The PS3 is quite an open system. You can change the HDD, and install any capacity or speed, and the beautiful thing about this is that, you can also install an SSD drive.

SSD drives have an insane transfer rate compared to the normal HDDs, but are extremely expensive – think $200 for 120GB.

Well good things come at a cost, and we all know that, right?

Digital Foundry has found out that SSD upgrade can boost some games significantly on the PS3. Notably Rage, Skyrim and Brink. You can check out the article here, it’s pretty comprehensive.
