The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2: Including Detailed Cutscenes

This kind of thing can only make the game better.

If and when Elders Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 is eventually brought to the market, there are a couple of things that will make the game quite a bit better. Sometimes, these additions make the game better in big ways and other times, the additions we are looking to have in the game are smaller but will actually make the game that much better in the long run. Sometimes there are questions about making sure there are better weapons in the title.

We also think there needs to be some more detailed cutscenes. By doing this, the game will be able to add in more story and make sure we’re actually feeling as though we have a role to play in the game world. These cut scenes can be used to introduce plot points that we might actually miss when we’re also looking to find the next monster to fight.

Cut scenes can actually be found as kind of annoying by some gamers, but the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of others who understand how important they can be. Getting better cut scene into the game will make the story worth watching and playing.

This article is part of our weekly series on Bethesda’s next big entry into the world of The Elder Scrolls. Through this series we take a look at the possible new features that Bethesda can add into the next The Elder Scrolls game, based on what they implemented in the previous entries and player feedback.

3 articles in 1 week…I’m not visiting this site anymore. Been coming here everyday multiple times for a couple years but I’m done with this clickbait nonsense.

You did the same with fallout 4…now elder scrolls. Enough is enough.

Maybe use more than two voice actors. 🙂

Firstly: If you think it’s going to be “Skyrim 2” you are going to be sorely dissappointed.

Secondly: No. Do not give us immersion breaking cutscenes rendered in Graphics 10X those we play in. Focus on making the game good. And then make “cutscenes” what they usually are.

Cutscenes work in games like FFVII Crisis Core. But they do not work in games like The Elder Scrolls for anything but breaking the immersion.

To be fair, there have been a lot of rumors that the game with be a direct sequel to Skyrim rather than the traditional format.

It’s a rumor, sure, but that would definitely be Skyrim 2.

    • Rasmus Lindegaard

A rumor, and most likely a fan made one because someone could not possibly imagine a cooler game.

Well, someone needs to wake up, Bethesda will likely lose a lot of fans if they made a Skyrim 2. I think one of Bethesda’s greatest virtues is that they’re capable of making a game so amazing that you can’t imagine anything will beat it, except if they were to release those minor improvements for the current game.

But they don’t do that. They make a couple of DLC’s that improve a lot upon the base game, and then they stop, and we have to wait. And when they then make something new, it’s similar and different at the same time, and hardly completely in line with anyone’s expectation.

I can just hope i will not be as dissapointed in TES: VI as a lot of Morrowind fans were in TES IV.

The author of this so called “Weekly series” needs to get a clue.

  • Renegade

A lot of these points were awful and the recommendations were just as bad. Combat was not difficult at all in Skyrim, The author has no idea what kind of story Elder Scrolls games tell. These arnt “pick your adventure” stories and no fan wants to see anything like that in TES games and to comment on the story being “uninspired” maybe you should have paid more attention to the story of the game and dont take everything at face value…sure if you punch through the main story and dont do anything else it looks “uninspired”. There is so much lore and story telling in this game and it seems you’ve missed a lot of it. If you want shorter load times start playing on a PC with a SSD drive.

    • Rasmus Lindegaard

Didn’t have SSD when i first completed Skyrim. And i didn’t have a problem with the load times.

    • Spookychief

Right, good point Rasmus. The non modded original game load times weren’t actually all that bad, though i never played on a console so i can’t attest to the load times on them. They only got really bad when you starting modding the crap out of the game.

    • Rasmus Lindegaard

I modded the crap out of it, after that, only the first load was bad (like up to 2 minutes maybe?) everything after was only a few seconds.

  • DarkD

God no… Not cutscenes… Cancer of the game industry right here… Cutscenes work in on-rail games, not open world… Cut scenes are expensive too, so chances are we’d be trading away something far more important than a stupid cut scene… Like the size of the map…

What I want to see is a more interactive and open world. Less bound by gaming structures like cut-scenes, skill trees, and menus.

The end result I want them working towards is a completely menuless game. To look at the journal, you take out a book with your own hand written notes in it. For a map, you get them from the NPC’s or make one yourself. Instead of an arrow hovering over the compass telling you where you need to go, you listen to convoluted instructions from NPCs like “follow the north road and turn left when it forks. Look for an old tree and head east until you see a big rock.”

  • Akatosh Witcher

No cutscenes please. I love Witcher 3 but lets not turn Elder Scrolls into that.

  • Will Harvey

I swear. These idiots who think Skyrim 2 is going to be a thing will be sorely disappointed. Skyrim is the 5th elder scrolls game, but sadly most people think it is the only one in the series. *Cough cough 12 year olds cough cough cough cough*
