The Order 1886

One of the PlayStation 4’s most anticipated games of 2014, The Order 1886 will not be running at sixty frames per second. Instead, for better cinematic presentation and effects, the game will run at 30 frames per second at 1080p resolution.

Ru Weerasuriya from Ready at Dawn Studios confirmed this in an interview with Play3.

“Currently we do not aim [for] 60 frames per second. In a first person shooter that [surely] makes sense. Also fighting games are undoubtedly predestined for 60 frames. But for us, the cinematic experience is in the foreground [basically focus] – presented in full HD 1080p. In favor of spectacular effects and the highest resolution we restrict ourselves to a fluid 30 frames per second,” he said.

Considering that inFamous Second Son still looks gorgeous and slick at 30 frames per second, fans looking forward to this game should not be disappointed by the lack of 60 fps. After all, it is the gameplay that matters.

What salty Xbots? All I see is people either praising how the game is for good reason, criticizing it for good reason, and then there are people like you.

Isn’t that supposed to be 800p…..or 1080p with 280 lines of resolution covered with black bars for that “cinematic feel”, running at 30fps?

It is indeed 800p30. The black bars are not part of the rendering field.
