Duke Nukem Forever (Q1 2011)

Duke Nukem Forever has been in development… forever. It was announced in 1997, and then delayed repeatedly, until finally, in September this year, it was announced that it will finally be released in 2011. But in the 13 years of its development cycle, four developers and four publishers have worked on the project. Wow, and we thought Gran Turismo 5 was taking a lot of time to be completed.

Brink (Spring 2011)

Brink is one of those few First Person Shooters that actually look, sound and feel very different from other games in the genre. Brink is set is a floating city surrounded by waters of a flooded earth. This floating city, called The Ark, was built to be a perfect city, with renewable resources, no pollution, and could support a population of 5,000. But with the destruction of the Earth, refugees came into the Ark and the population went up to 50,000, and thus, the resources fell short. And now, the people of The Ark are on the brink of civil war. This sounds like an interesting idea, and I would like to see how the developers build on it.

Doom 4 (TBA 2011)

What is Doom 4? Of course, it should be a sequel to Doom 3? If not that, is it a prequel to the franchise? Or is it just a reboot? Well, the developers of Doom 4 have confirmed that it’s none of those. It’s just… Doom 4. Supposedly, the game will not have the same horror theme as Doom 3, and will most probably be set on Earth. But we don’t know much more than that. The developers, id Software have, however, claimed that it will be even better than their other in-development game, RAGE. Well, we’ll found out soon, won’t we?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3/ Call of Duty Sledgehammer Project (TBA 2011)

The Modern Warfare brand name is a huge one, almost as big as the Call of Duty brand name. And why wouldn’t it be? Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 were great games. Now, Activision has confirmed that a new Call of Duty game, most probably Modern Warfare 3, will be releasing in 2011. And that is all we know. Just that a Call of Duty game will be released in ’11. In fact, it could even be the CoD game Sledgehammer Games are working on. We don’t know yet, but that will change soon, hopefully.

F.E.A.R. 3 (March 2011)

F.E.A.R. was awesome, and while F.E.A.R. 2 did not quite live up to its predecessor, it was good as well. F.E.A.R. 3 promises to redeem the franchise to its original stature, and we cant wait to get our hands on it. With an improved cover system, co-op, more horror elements and all new abilities such as telekineses and more of the like, F.E.A.R. 3 looks all set to stun us with its awesomeness. Though it might be too soon to speak anything… let’s just wait and watch.
