UK Charts: Far Cry 3 at no 1, followed by FIFA 13

Reviews do help.

Posted By | On 02nd, Jan. 2013

We have the details of last week’s UK charts for you and it’s a bit surprising considering Far Cry 3 has managed to top it. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been pushed to the no. 3 position which is a bit surprising considering Call of Duty games usually tend to sell a lot and take the top position for a lot of months.

FIFA 13 has turned out to be a juggernaut of a game shipping 15 million copies, and it’s not really a surprising considering it’s one of the most pre-ordered games to have been released this year.

Far Cry 3 has received phenomenal scores from a lot of publications and has also become our GOTY this year. It should be one of the reasons why it has sold so well, since reviews do affect sales, and our description of the game states:

“Far Cry 3, as our review mentions, is quite a flawless game with some issues that are probably too trivial to be counted. Offering tons of replay value, unscripted combat, and near perfect gameplay overall, it’s something that not only pleased the critics worldwide but plenty of gamers as well.

“It’s our game of the year, because people loved the way it was executed, loved the way it was designed, and in the end, all we have to say Is this- well done, Ubisoft.”
