Watch Dogs: Can You Tell Fact From Fiction? A Comparison Of The Game’s Graphics With Real Life

Watch Dogs may have found itself embroiled in a controversy around its graphics recently, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at the images below. The set of pictures, which compare real life locations in Chicago to as they appear in the game, are really hard to separate into game versus the real world because of how stellar a job Ubisoft has done with the game’s visuals.

Admittedly a large part of this has to do with the fact that the real world images are all Google StreetView, which makes things appear a bit more gamey (complete with its own HUD overlaid on top of the image!), but even making concessions for that, it is clear that, allegations of downgrades aside, Watch Dogs is an extraordinarily pretty looking game.

Of course, what kinds of performance concessions, if any, were made to achieve this kind of visual fidelity remains to be seen. But from everything we have seen of the title so far, it is clear that Ubisoft’s next flagship is shaping up to be one hell of a looker.
