In case you were curious about who “won” E3 2014, Xbox head Phil Spencer believes that it was a week where gamers in general were the winners.

Speaking on Xbox Wire, Spencer said, “We saw amazing games from innovative creators, developed for Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo. Some people have asked who ‘won’ this week and the answer is simple–the gamers. It’s wonderful to see our industry healthy and delivering what we all want – great games.”

The current approach with the Xbox One is to deliver the best possible exclusives. The Holiday season will include nine exclusives (including a beta for Fable Legends) for the console and as Spencer says, “As we look ahead, our team is laser focused on delivering the best line-up of exclusive games and continuously working to deliver new features and improvements to Xbox One. As always, we look forward to your feedback.”

This was probably one of the most well rounded E3’s in recent years. I just hope next year Sony don’t spend 30 minutes of the show talking numbers (i don’t care how many times the Share button has been pressed) and then trying to talk up a TV show that hasn’t even been casted and started production yet. Fill the time with games or cut it out, but still a great conference. Love how Microsoft’s presentation was with just game after game. Ubisoft had an appealing E3 too, some great games coming, some not so great games coming but overall they did well. Nintendo came out fighting and had a good E3 too, I think the only bad thing about E3 this year was EA. They have many games that people were eager to see more of and be announced officially but what they did didn’t work, I guess that’s the risk your take when you try to change the formula.

Colour me excited for Gamescom, TGS and bring on 2015.
