Microsoft honoring that codename one last time.

Okay guys, if you want the Xbox One X, go and get it- it’s available for pre-order right now. That’s pretty cool, but what’s even cooler is the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition that was revealed at Gamescom earlier today.

Project Scorpio was the Xbox One X’s code name, the name we knew the console by for a year, and I think a lot of people got attached to that name- now, they can have a final console bearing that name, because the Project Scorpio edition has a Scorpio badge (in that lovely font), as well as a limited edition controller. The Project Scorpio edition will also be hugely limited- so once it is sold out, it is gone for good, meaning if you want it, get it now.

I have a lot of problems with the Xbox One, and Microsoft’s approach to exclusives and software- but the Xbox One X hardware is a thing of beauty, being that powerful and that small. The Scorpio Edition only further emphasizes that.

That was such a lame conference lul

      Lmao yup

“I have a lot of problems with the Xbox One, and Microsoft’s approach to exclusives and software”. Of course you do, you’re just another retarded Sony fanboy pretending to be a gaming journalist.

    • Makoto Yuki

Or he’s not an Xbox fanboy like you are.

  • I admit the XBOX Gamescom 2017 conference is one of the worst conference ever seen before.

    • Xhawk27

Did Sony even show up? It was E3 for Europe.

    • doplerradar

To be fair, I wouldn’t really call it a conference. More something smaller like what Nintendo tends to do occasionally with Direct, which I was intentional.

    • Mark

Yeah it was awful. Low budget I think they just wanted to focus on X1X

  • quantum

Some scumbag is already selling one on ebay for £625

    • LDS

Which you are not obligated to buy when there’s going to be extra stock available in store
Yes, they are scumbags but those who buy from those scumbags are idiots as well

    • C. Hoffer

Is there going to be ‘extra stock’ in store? I looked at a few of the big sites for pre-orders and they were all sold out just a couple of hours after announcement. I checked with Best Buy in store and they are not even getting the pre-orders. It was all online or nothing.
This is about the worst console pre-order I have seen. Its like they made a few thousand units for the entire world just to see if they would sell.

    • Doggystyle ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Nope. They’re trying to create a demand for them so people will think they can’t get one anywhere and then get desperate to buy them as soon as they’re in stock.

    • Luke Skywalker

this is the same thing you said about the elite controller. how wrong were you?

    • Doggystyle ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Thank you for acknowledging that I got that one right too. The whole sales scheme was pathetic.

    • Luke Skywalker

      Actually you were dead wrong

    • Mr Xrat

      I admire his entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Smart guy

    Done and Done! Day one!

  • LifeOnMars

Being powerful and small could cause heat problems similar to the ROD on Xbox360,
I wouldn’t be in a hurry to shell out $500 straight away.
I will wait 6 months for the hype to die down and the price to fall before considering purchasing Xbox One X, there will be an indication of how many good games have been released.

  • Doggystyle ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

4K assets will quickly fill up a 1 terabyte drive. They’re already cheaping out on the storage space.

    • C. Hoffer

      I’m not too worried.
I have a 4 TB USB 3 as a Raid0. Faster than the average drives, big enough for a few games Xbox has in the near future (that I will play) yet substantially more cost effective than SSD’s in Raid0. 🙂

    • Doggystyle ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

      Sounds like your prepared.

    • C. Hoffer

To be honest I prefer my Pro but I really enjoyed my 360. I just wish the systems were a bit more equal. Between the One/S under powered crap coupled with the M$ drought of games the only system worth buying is a Pro. I just can’t see myself without a M$ system…really miss the 360 days. I avoided the PS3…but played all the important remasters on the PS4. 😉

  • Shadowbane Gaming

You do realize that most of those “exclusives” will also be on PS4 later, right? Also, the One X CPU is only 200 MHz more powerful than the Pro.

    • Ocelot forgot his meds

Don’t be angry guy. PROtato doesn’t even download 4k textures and assets like the X. And Sony’s 3rd person single player games are just timed exclusives until they release on Pc PSnow.
