10. Half-Life 3 trailer?
So I can’t even rightfully say that this video is a Half-Life trailer. It appears to, at least partially take place in the Half-Life Universe, in what appears to be occupied Russia. While there is no mention of Gordon Freeman, the Gman or any of our classic favorites the story for this video follows a robot.
While this is clearly a fan made short, it has more than a little bit of Half-Life influence in it and really makes us wonder what exactly is going on in the rest of the world? We’ve seen plenty of what happened at Black Mesa and in City 17, but whose to say that every city in the world is exactly like that? I personally wouldn’t mind seeing a few awesome robot butlers like this in the next Half-Life game.
Final Thoughts
We have yet to see anything about Half-Life 3 that can be considered accurate and it’s clear from all the “Half-Life 3 Confirmed!” comments as well as fan-made shorts like these that people are chomping at the bit to get their hands on it. With the perfectionists that Valve is, we may still have to wait quite a long time, but they’ve also been known to spring plenty of surprises on us too.
Right now the best we can hope for is fan made trailers and short videos like this along with plenty of amazing modifications to play while we wait. Gabe Newell won’t leave us hanging forever, but he and the rest of the Valve team want Half-Life 3 to be the best game it can possibly be. If that means waiting for a few more years, well then so be it.
