RESISTANCE: RETRIBUTION

While Insomniac Games was developing the mainline FPS Resistance trilogy for the PS3 in that console generation, SIE Bend Studio put out a third person shooter spinoff for the PSP with Resistance: Retribution- and it was a surprisingly solid game, with a great single player campaign and addictive multiplayer offerings. Unsurprisingly, however, its controls were something of an issue at times. That’s unsurprising, of course, because the PS2 only had one analog stick, which meant that aiming in Retribution was done with the face buttons, which made it feel inaccurate and a little cumbersome. Thankfully, the solid cover mechanics went a long way towards making up for other deficiences.
