SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS

Criticism of controls is something Shadow of Colossus is used to. The classic action-adventure title has been basking in universal plaudits since it first launched for the PS2 in 2005, but even back then, it was criticized by no few people for its controls- and of course, the same criticisms were reserved for its PS4 remake as well. The development team behind Shadow of the Colossus has a history of implementing eccentric controls in its games, of course, and that’s perhaps truer here than anywhere else. With issues like floaty jumps, finnicky and unusual inputs, and a camera that absolutely loses its mind every so often, the game can certainly be a nightmare to control at times. In spite of that, it remains a masterpiece, of course, which should tell you something about how good it is.
