2. The Simpsons Hit and Run
The Simpsons is one of those series that is familiar to just about everyone, but the games have always lurked in the shadow of the ultimately more enjoyable comedy series. Hit and Run managed to eclipse its licensed brethren by blatantly stealing the mechanics of another good game and just transplanting the Simpons onto them. So what you get is a Grand Theft Auto rip-off based in Springfield. The free roaming digital version of the Simpsons' home town was fun to explore, and who doesn't love a bit of GTA?
