1. Modern Warfare 3 - 13.45 million

Modern Warfare 3, like so many of the recent Call of Duty games (as this list suggests) broke a ton of sales records. It went on to sell 6.5 million units in the US and UK during its first 24 hours on sale, grossing over $400 million (until Black Ops 2 came along the very next year), making it the biggest entertainment launch of all time across all forms of media (it even grossed $1 billion two days faster than Avatar did). This record was beaten taking into consideration just the sales within the regions of UK and US, making the feat that much more impressive. MW3 then went on to gross $775 million in its first five days of availability, ultimately impressing way more with 13.45 million sales in the first week than we could have expected.
