  8) Peripheral vision

I’ve always had the philosophy that you should never spend too much on peripherals because you can bet that they won’t be transferable when you upgrade your console. Just look at Microsoft’s revelation that none of your old controllers or headsets will be compatible! What’s more, they’re often pretty hit and miss; they cost the earth and most add-ons turn out to be a bit of a lame duck anyway. We’ve all got some useless chunk of plastic gathering dust beside your TV… come on, who bought the Dreamcast fishing controller, R.O.B the NES robot, the SNES Super Scope or, of course, Kinect???
