10 Franchises With Great Potential That Microsoft Is Neglecting

Rise of Nations

Rise of Nations and Rise of Legends have to be the two most awesome Real Time Strategy games there ever were. So why the hell has Microsoft not announced a third Rise of Nations? Yes, it wouldn’t be on the Xbox 360, but at least we’ll get to play an awesome RTS on the PC again. It’s time Microsoft not only started playing catch up with Sony and Nintendo in the first part exclusives section, but also started paying more attention to the PC, rather than just porting X360 games.

Project Gotham Racing

Bizarre Creations may have been shutdown (damn you, Activision!), but the Project Gotham Racing IP still lives on, and Microsoft still owns it. And while they do have a very good racing franchise, Forza Motorsport, under their belts right now, they must make use of each and every first part franchise, especially one as good as PGR. And after the success that PGR4 garnered, it’s just surprising to not have seen any sequel for it after all these years.

Banjo-Kazooie

Banjo-Kazooie was such a great platforming franchise in the N64 days, and while Rare did not do justice to the franchise with Nuts and Bolts, the third game in the series, it was still a blast to play through the game and meet the old characters we had all come to love again. Now, MS doesn’t really have a good platforming franchise, but this could be it. We expect, and want, Microsoft to announce a fourth Banjo game at next year’s E3, and please Rare, do it justice this time (if it even happens).
