3. Unnecessary Multiplayer Modes
It may not be hip or mainstream to focus on single player these days, but there is definitely still a market for games that put the solo experience first. Spec Ops: The Line is the best example of this, garnering largely positive criticism for its story and single player modes and nothing but contempt for the tacked on multiplayer shenanigans. Granted, this is an issue with pushy and deluded publishers more than anything, but we can only hope that this kind of thing comes to an end in the coming years.
