6. Half-Life 3
You probably guessed this entry the moment you saw the title for this article, as Half-Life 3 has got to be the most regularly rumoured development of all time. With Half-Life 2's episodes ending on such a cliffhanger, fans and industry insiders have speculated at a full sequel; an assumption made more likely by Valve's continued development of a new engine. Just as Half-Life 2 was used to launch the Source engine, so it's assumed HL3 will bring a new era of Valve engines to the industry.
