An attempt to bring the Call of Juarez series into the modern day was an ambitious, but ultimately misguided project that inevitably led to the mediocre CoJ: The Cartel. Ambitious competitive co-op story objectives were let down by boring weapons. There was no sense of power behind any shot in the game's tedious campaign, and the game was far weaker for it.
