Sony isn’t the only company seeing a slowdown in terms of console sales. Nintendo’s fiscal results for the quarter ending September 30th revealed the Switch 2 sold 2.67 million units, for a lifetime total of 26.35 million.
While that’s faster than the Nintendo Switch, currently at 157.2 million lifetime units, it’s down significantly from the previous quarter (3.82 million). In terms of software, the Switch 2 sold a whopping 15.04 million while the Switch 1 sold 610,000. That’s as sure a sign as any that most fans have moved on.
But that doesn’t mean its last few major titles weren’t successful. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream sold a whopping 8.83 million while Rhythm Heaven Groove hit 2.89 million.
As for the Switch 2, Mario Kart World topped the first-party charts as usual at 16.48 million units sold, followed by Donkey Kong Bananza at 5.05 million. Among newer titles were Star Fox at 1.17 million and Splatoon Raiders at 2.42 million. Meanwhile, Pokemon Pokopia managed 4.04 million. Check out the full first-party chart here.
With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake out today, could it displace Mario Kart World and become the top-seller, especially since it’s already the highest-rated game of the year? Stay tuned in the coming months to find out.
