10. Light Propogation Volumes
The way light bounces off of objects as minor reflections can be hugely CPU intensive, far too much in fact for most modern gen systems. Light Propogation Volume is a method of calculating the first bounce of diffuse global illumination without a huge amount of processing power or time being required. That said, its results are severely bottlenecked by current system hardware, making next gen a potential playground for new lighting technologies.
