9. Retro Remakes
Having your cake and eating it is usually impossible, but it has become surprisingly real in regards to retro gaming recently. I wouldn't want gaming to revert to how it was back in the eighties entirely, but there are times when the gruelling difficulty of the old NES days seems oddly appealing. Cue the return of classics like Mega Man and Bionic Commando (Rearmed rather than the awful 3D shooter). Whether these remakes have a new lick of paint or not, seeing them return is mighty satisfying and adds a nice diversity to the libraries of games out there.
