4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

For the very same reasons as Halo: Reach and its predecessors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and its predecessors deserve a place on this list. We all have to admit- this game has a lot of flaws, yes, but it is addictive as hell. It released a year back, and it has still kept us hooked to it, and not even a day in the past year can I remember when I didn’t log on to Xbox Live to play Modern Warfare 2 online. Not only does MW2 have the best online mode out there, it also has a really fast-paced, exciting single player campaign that we might feel the need to complete more than once.

3. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

Pokemon is addictive. That much is obvious, even if you haven’t played a single Pokemon game. It is the most addictive series there ever was, and Diamond/Pearl are the epitome of that addictiveness. They can last you forever. Apart from the main story and all the side/after quests put together (which last us around sixty hours), we can spend hours and hours on travelling through the regions, trying to “catch ‘em all,” or battling online, or trading with friends. It is this mix of addictiveness and replayability that makes Pokemon the ultimate handheld experience.

2. Fable II

Fable II- yes. I know a lot of you are surprised to see this game on this list, and that too, at such a high position, and most of you might even boycott me for this, but I can’t help it. For all its bugs and glitches and unpolished gameplay, Fable II is addictive- very addictive. In fact, it is as addictive as RPGs can get. The world of Albion is Fable II has a lot of things that can be done- you can interact with people, marry them, have children, do jobs, buy houses and other plots, buy other items, complete the missions and side-missions and last, but not the least, play with your lovable canine companion. The recently released Fable III offers a lot of freedom as well, but it is hard for any game to have the same level of addictiveness that Fable II does.
