4. Chainsaw kill (Gears of War)

Much like the previous entry, Gears of War was able to grab the attention of many through its satisfying and brutal use of violence (although Gears is a much better game than Mortal Kombat.) The most satisfying thing about Gears had to be its signature chainsaw bayonet that graces every Lancer rifle. Just hearing the rev of the chainsaw bayonet is enough to make you run in the opposite direction, but achieving the kill yourself is a satisfying experience indeed. Respect to JoshSeddon for the montage.

3. The Knife (Counter-Strike)

Carrying on the theme of melee weapons in shooter games we move on to the humble knife. It might not be gory, large or intimidating but damn is it embarrassing to fall to it. Counter-Strike has the most iconic knife, considering how you always run faster with the knife. You also have to equip the knife as a separate weapon, meaning there are no fluke kills when it comes to the knife. In a game such as CS, where a pro player will put a bullet in your head in seconds flat, the knife is a truly skilful way to crush your opponents spirits. Thanks to duncanbiscuits for the footage.

2. The stealth kill (Any game)

Ninjas are totally awesome. Ninjas are characterised by their ability to stealth kill. Therefore stealth kills are totally awesome. It doesn’t matter what game it is, if you can kill your foe without being detected you feel like an ultimate pro. The closer you get to your target when you perform the kill the better. For the purposes of demonstration I’ve put a clip from Tenchu 2 to show some classic ninja action. Textbook execution.

1. Boom Headshot (Any shooter)

One hit kill. Requires skill. Followed by a humiliating battle cry. Any game. Any time. Nuff said. Only one man can truly demonstrate the perfect Boom Headshot. FPS Doug. Thanks to ConradMS for the upload and Pure Pwnage for the awesome show.
