Like so many Facebook games, Mafia Wars offers players rewards based on how many players they recruit to the game rather than skilled play. As such, Mafia Wars is an example of the cardinal sin that is notification spamming. Sure, you can stop it fairly easily, but no one will forget the days when they received a seemingly endless run of Mafia Wars invites.
