2. The Water Temple - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Water Temple may not be the largest of levels in terms of volume, but its scope and complexity makes it feel like a truly epic ordeal. The three storey dungeon is made infinitely more complex through the need to raise and lower the water levels to access different sections. To top it all off it also features an epic mini-boss fight in a mirage room that gives the impression of endless space. The last boss is a bit of a let down by comparison, but this was one stage that always felt massive.
