Tasty Visuals
The world of Metro has always been well designed from an artistic point of view but, on a decent PC at least, the technical beauty of Metro 2033 was not to be underestimated. Metro: Last Light looks to keep this trend up, especially with its new focus on dynamic lighting. Previews already look incredible, so expect an even greater graphical polish when the final product retails in March.
Weapon Designs
Similar to Metro 2033, the weapon designs are bound to be a real highlight of Last Light. From an aesthetic perspective they offer an interesting take on conventional firearms with a hobbled together look of rogue gears and pistons. This design also feeds into the gameplay with some more powerful weapons requiring manual pressure gauges to be maintained. Needy, but effective.
Improved Customisation
An important part of the ramshackle weapon design in Last Light is how most of the weapons are improvised out of other items. This means Artyom can also customise his weapons with new parts, shoving silencers on rifles and scopes on shotguns and what have you. As in 2033 though, you have to use military grade bullets as currency, meaning that extra zoom may cost you the ammo that could save your life later on.
