Monster Hunter
Many have compared Monster Hunter’s combat to Dark Souls over the years, which is interesting because the first game precedes Demon’s Souls by a good five years. Capcom’s premier action RPG series tasks players with simply hunting monsters. The extensive boss fight patterns mirror the Souls series in many ways though deeper combat mechanics across its various weapon types and a focus primarily on boss fights defines Monster Hunter as whole. Of course, that’s not including the stamina meter which had an influence on running and diving about or the extensive character creator.
