Commander Shepard – Mass Effect 3
What can you say about Commander Shepard and their sacrifices to protect the galaxy? Battling Reapers, dying to the Collectors, being revived by and working with Cereberus, watching numerous planets fall and millions die – the list goes on and on. Even with all the work put into creating the Crucible, Shepard must return to Earth to activate it, fighting off Harbinger’s forces in a desperate battle.
And regardless of the final decision, they’re essentially giving themselves up, whether it’s to control or destroy the Reapers or merge all synthetic and organic life. If you have very Effective Military Strength and choose the Destroy ending, it’s hinted that Shepard survives but we really won’t know for sure until the sequel.
