Pool Barney – Half-Life (PS2 Port)
The story behind Half-Life: Decay is simple enough – it’s a co-op multiplayer expansion for the PlayStation 2 port of Half-Life, and was developed by Gearbox Software (which also worked on Opposing Force and Blue Shift). But then there was the mysterious Barney in Mission 5. You could find his corpse simply floating in the pool room. Who killed him and why? No one knows but players who tried to gib his body – as you would do – discovered that he had a ton of health. More than triple that of the Gargantua, in fact. Upon destroying it, the corpse would explode spectacularly, leaving behind a pulsating mass that provided…some Snark grenades. How and why? Your guess is as good as ours.
