This, sadly, is one that we’re apparently not going to get. The Dead Space franchise got an unlikely and unexpected revival in 2023 with a remake of the series’ original instalment, but in spite of how spectacular the game was, it did not perform to EA’s expectations, which means the series is once again on a hiatus- and there’s no telling how long it’ll last this time, or if it will ever end. Regardless, the Dead Space remake was evidence enough that a similarly thorough and compelling remake of Dead Space 2 would have been another sci-fi horror masterpiece, and it’s an absolute shame that we’re not going to get that.
