Visiting Jerusalem and perching on rooftops, and climbing on to the highest tower before taking a leap of faith – even with its shortcoming, Assassin’s Creed heralded the beginning of something new and special with its control scheme, navigation and lush open world. It allowed for open world stealth not yet seen from the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell at the time.
