DEVICE INCOMPATIBILITY

Ostensibly, Pokémon Go is compatible with iOS and Android devices. However, puzzlingly enough, the actual list of devices that the game is optimized for seems to be rather small. On the iOS side, for instance, multiple reviews on the App Store indicate that the game will not run on iPod Touch’s, even those that have been technically denoted as compatible. On the Android side, there seems to be a wide range of devices that the game won’t run on (though given the sheer number of devices that run on Android, this seems to be a bit more acceptable). Pokémon Go also isn’t compatible with Android N, which is a major oversight that needs to resolved quickly. Given how much appeal the game has, Niantic and The Pokémon Company need to work on making it compatible with as many devices as possible.
