12 Fighting Game Mechanics That Make No Sense

A fight's a fight, right? Turns out that's not always the case in some games.

Clear Mismatches

Dragon Ball FighterZ - Kefla

Power rankings are all the rage, even if it’s well-worn territory for fighting games. For some games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, however, it’s strange. The anime has a pretty clear distinction as to who’s stronger – Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Jiren are going to be stronger than Videl or Tien, for instance. So it’s kind of odd to see someone like Krillin or Gotenks fighting on an even level with them (much less with a literal destructive entity like Beerus). You could argue balance but from the perspective of “muh lore”, it’s jarring and will only get weirder when Ultra Instinct Goku is added to the game.
