MechWarrior 5 had a lot of issues, and might not have been the comeback that fans of the franchise may have been hoping for, but no one can deny that it at least looked great. And it really says something about what RTX does for the game that playing it without after having played it with it can make it look actually flat and dull. On paper, better reflections, shadows, and lighting might seem like minor little details, but even seeing brief clips of MechWarrior 5 with and without ray tracing is enough to prove that cumulatively, such things can make or break a game’s visuals.
