Pokemon Legends Z-A

While there’s something about Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s European launch sales and the overall drop from Arceus and Scarlet/Violet, its sales in the United States are a different story. Circana’s Mat Piscatella revealed that in terms of units and dollar sales, it’s the biggest physical video game release in the region since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Which is no small feat, considering that the latter launched in May 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, which enjoyed a far bigger install base. Even more impressive is the fact that Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s console bundles, which contributed significantly to its strong sales in Europe, aren’t even included in its US sales.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is available for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and sold over 5.8 million units worldwide in its first week (with approximately half of its sales being on the new console). You can check out our review here – we gave it an eight out of ten, praising the real-time combat system, soundtrack, and Lumiose City as a whole.
