The Hotel
What is this hotel? Is it some sort of purgatory? A shape shifting labyrinth where a dead end suddenly transforms into a dimly lit hallway. And who is the accompanying observer delivering line after line of creepy monologue. Can they be trusted? Can anything be taken at face value? The Hotel’s first-person perspective doesn’t immediately evoke old school Resident Evil, but it’s strict resource management, health sapping spectre encounters, and propensity for our protagonist to descend into madness mean the experience is a tense one, the feeling of barely clinging on through every encounter a mainstay of Capcom’s survival horror oeuvre. At £1.69 on the UK Steam page too, The Hotel is an absolute steal.
