What does Diglett look like under the ground?

Pokemon has some strange designs but none have stumped the community for as long as Diglett has. All we can see of it is a small, rotund head poking out of the earth. The question that has always stumped us is, what is Diglett hiding underground? Is it a grotesque monster, a muscular body? Or is Diglett just a simple mole and what lurks underneath is just a small, cuddly body? We will probably never know the answer, but based on some of the speculation, maybe that’s for the best.
