From the very first moment we meet Sean in the mission where Arthur, Charles, and Javier rescue him from bounty hunters near Blackwater, it’s easy to see that the Irishman has an excess of personality, and he continues to display that excess of personality throughout the rest of his time with the gang. It’s also easy to like him as a character, especially seeing his “annoying little brother and disgruntled older brother” interactions with Arthur- his death at the hands of the Grays in chapter 3 of the game is sudden, and abrupt, and comes right at the time when he’s truly starting to cement himself as one of the game’s primary characters. Following his death, Arthur even mentions in his journal that he looked at Sean as an annoying younger brother, which just makes his loss that much more heartbreaking.
