Far Cry 3
Going from vacationing boy to tribal badass warrior who can stitch his own ammo belt from a bear, the journey Jason Brody takes in Far Cry 3 against his foil, the nihilistic Vaas is more than compelling enough to see all the way through to the end. But when you reach the end of the road, Vaas, the most compelling element, is long gone, and following that, players are given a forced choice to kill the friends they spent the whole game saving or to go with them back to their lives, either of which let the player continue exploring afterwards, making the whole thing meaningless.
