After spending hours honing your skills and upgrading your character, the final boss unceremoniously grants you a new concrete power, and makes you learn this all-new set of powers in the game’s final moments. It completely goes against everything you’ve been working towards, instead forcing you to learn a new set of abilities when they will no longer be of any use.
