Grand Theft Auto 5 holds the record for being the most profitable entertainment product of all time, and it’s a record well-earned. Released back in 2013, Grand Theft Auto 5 was an excellent swansong for seventh-generation consoles and a solid showcase for the power of the PS3 (though it was available for Xbox 360 as well). The city of Los Santos is not only vast in terms of scope but also features an impressive level of micro-detail that makes exploring this virtual space an absolute joy.
The heist missions are also blockbusters with memorable set-pieces and thrilling chases, which makes GTA 5’s campaign one of the best in the series. And of course, there’s the online mode that completely took the industry by storm and continues to rake in enormous amounts of cash for the developer to this date.
