Grand Theft Auto 4 was the first GTA to be released for the PS3, and it remains one of the most unique experiences in this long-running franchise. Set against the backdrop of Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto 4 tells a moving tale about the cycle of revenge and the frailties of the American Dream – with a well-written protagonist Niko standing at the epicenter of it all. The gameplay might not hold up to this date, but it was a big step up from San Andreas in almost every sense – and there are plenty of memorable missions to complete and characters to meet in this well-realized world.
