Fracture – Terrain Deformation
Cover shooters like Gears of War and Uncharted have played with the idea of cover in so many ways by this point, it’s hard to think of what we haven’t used as a chest high wall. Fracture wanted to sell us on giving the power of terrain deformation to the players, allowing them to make their own cover. Unfortunately the unique mechanic failed to make a big impression in a shooter otherwise hopelessly derivative of games that had their own ideas.
