Wii U Gamepad
Almost as an extension of the super popular Nintendo DS, the Wii U gamepad was pitched with the promise of all that, and the versatility of being detached to allow for various asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay, or new concepts completely. The Wii U gamepad was a victim of, and cause of some of the Wii U’s biggest problems. The console was very underpowered next to the competition, but the price was driven way too high by the tech within the Gamepad. Marketing failed to tell people what the console and gamepad were or could do, and as a result, we have maybe Super Mario Maker as the best argument for it.
