Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Crash N.Sane Trilogy – Classic Code Teases Spyro Reignited

Time travel with me way back to the late 90’s, the era of Playstation and cute console mascots such as Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot. In such a bygone era, when cheat codes and late night Mario Kart 64 binges reigned supreme, Naughty Dog and Insomniac were as close knit as you could get, to the point where each company’s games would hide a demo for the other if you got the code from the manual, such as Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped giving players a taste of a then upcoming Spyro the Dragon.

Now in 2017, when the Crash N.Sane Trilogy did the impossible and brought the manic marsupial to the current generation, players quickly noticed that hovering on the Crash 3 titles and entering that old Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Square would….well it would do nothing but remove the cursor from the screen. But that was all that was needed to tip off the old PS1 faithful to the suggestion that Spyro would be next to see a revival on modern hardware, about a year before the Spyro Reignited Trilogy would be officially revealed, and Crash updated to now show the reveal trailer with the above input.
