Black
Black is Criterion Games of Burnout fame’s take on the first-person genre. The game was released on PS2 and Xbox in 2006, and while it flew under many gamers’ radars but those who picked it up did find a lot of enjoyment out of it. Black features a drab and macabre color palette, which is fitting for its extremely brutal action. Guns have punchy audio and satisfying feedback and to top that off, it also featured excellent destruction mechanics – and in the end you have one great first-person shooter that’s sure to keep genre fans stocked on adrenaline through and through.
