The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

Developed by Flagship, which was funded by Capcom at the time, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons provide everything that one could want from a 2D Zelda adventure. However, these weren’t just two games with slightly different content. Each title had its own unique world and main quest, a different gameplay hook (controlling the weather in Seasons vs. time-traveling in Ages), different items and much more. Upon completing one game, the player could receive a password to continue their quest in the other, turning the latter into a sequel and unlocking the true ending. Despite being relegated to the past, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are still some of the best Zelda games ever made.
