The sequel may be sleeker but in terms of atmospheric terror, Condemned: Criminal Origins is still very much worth playing. This first person survival horror sees FBI agent Ethan Thomas investigating a range of serial killers, venturing into seedy areas and fighting with improvised melee weapons (especially since ammo is sparingly available). There’s also a fair bit of investigation and evidence gathering to solve puzzles, and ultimately find the cause of the city’s spiral into madness.
