Resident Evil (2002)
The first Resident Evil is a trail-blazer in the survival horror genre but its voice acting and live action cutscenes were embarrassing at the time. In 2002, it received a remake which retained the style of 3D models against pre-rendered backgrounds. However, along with improved visuals, a revamped script and better voice-acting, not to mention terrors like Lisa Trevor, it was a stunning realization of an undead nightmare. Of descending into a mansion teeming with horrors with little to rely on but one’s wits and whatever ammunition was available.
